I like having a fully stocked pantry. I also like having a fully stocked bar cart.

One of my biggest aggravations in life is not having that one thing to complete and meal or a cocktail, and having to run out to get a lemon, or an egg, or sweet vermouth.

Especially when it’s cold and snowy and blowy. Nothing is a bigger buzzkill than having to take 20 minutes to bundle up against the elements and then venture out in the freezing rain or driving snow. It’s much more convenient to have a good stock ready and waiting, your biggest effort the energy it requires to shake a drink.

Because we’re good Samaritans, we’ve put together a very handy shopping list for all the spirits, mixes, and garnishes required to make your most popular winter cocktails. Save this post and bring it with you on your next shopping trip. But don’t wait too long, a storm’s a-brewin’.
