Refreshing Cucumber Gin Cocktail

If the Gordon's Cup and Juliet & Romeo had a baby. Sort of.

Well, this cocktail seals the deal. 

I am truly, madly, deeply, dedicated to gin cocktails with cucumber. 

Pimm's, Juliet & Romeo, Gordon's Cup... it looks like I have a type and this is it. 

But I suppose if you're going to have a type, you could certainly do worse. 

White Linen Cocktail

This version of a cucumber and gin mix was popularized in the early 2000's at the Shady Lady Saloon in Sacramento, California. What a great name for a bar. 

Makes: 1 drink
Bartender level: easy

Ingredients: 
  • 3 fat slices cucumber + more for garnish
  • 2 oz gin
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • ½ oz simple syrup
  • ½ oz Elderflower liqueur
  • soda water
How to Make It:
  1. Into an empty shaker, add the cucumber slices and gently muddle to release the juice. 
  2. Pour in the remaining ingredients except the soda water. 
  3. Add ice and shake until well chilled, about 20 seconds. 
  4. Double strain into a rocks glass filled with ice, garnish with fresh cucumber and serve.
