Bourbon Cherry Slushie
A grown-up version of the snow-cone favourite.
by Erin Henderson
Everything about summer is a little looser: footwear, utensils, bedtimes... and drinks.
In the rule-abiding fall, we happily sip our whiskies neat or our cocktails made just so, but when the mercury pushes past all sense of reason, our adult brains melt back into childhood.

This version of the classic corner store cherry slushie gets a little fortification from a wink – make that a dollop – of bourbon. Because it's summer. And it's fun.
Cherry Bourbon Slushie
This makes one drink, but you can easily make a big batch for your next pool party, just multiply how many drinks you need and go from there.
We're based in Toronto, Canada. At the time of this posting, we don't have access to American spirits or wine, so while bourbon is what's recommended, we're swapping for Canadian whisky that's bourbon in character.
