Wine School returns January 21, 2020!

We're bringing sexy back with our classic Wine School curriculum of foundational workshops, designed for wine lovers who are big on wine, but short on time. 

Running Janaury 21, 28, February 4, 11, & 25. This series includes our most-requested sessions on how to taste and pair wine – as well as a very special class with the winemakers of Niagara-on-the-Lake!

Hosted each week at Vantage Venues by our founding sommelier, Erin, in partnership with our sister company Drink Toronto, these interactive and approachable classes are created for all wine enthusiasts of all levels. So come share a laugh, a glass, and a bite to eat, all while boosting your confidence in wine.

Private and corporate sessions, as well as customized classes/themes, are available for groups of 10+ participants.

Learn to taste like pro!
In this fun and interactive two-hour workshop, you will learn the basics of how to taste, appreciate and assess wine. Tasting through four wines, you will begin to understand common terminology and descriptors. 


Tuesday, January 28, 6:30-8:30pmWine Styles Defined

A comparison tasting of eight red and white wines, this class is a great introduction to the differences between wine styles, from dry to sweet, light bodied to full.  


Tuesday, February 4, 6:30-8:30 – Explore the Wines of Niagara-on-the-Lake

Taste & learn with the winemakers of Niagara-on-the-Lake! In this special wine tasting we explore six stunning white and red wines of NOTL with the people who made them!

Everyone knows Champagne is the king of sparkling wine, but what is the difference between Champers and Prosecco? And what are you really drinking whilst sipping Cava against the crescendoes of Beethoven's Fifth? (Or Metallica — don't worry we can keep a secret.) We answer these bubbling questions and more in this two-hour workshop as you taste and compare four famous fizzes from around the world.


Tuesday, February 25, 6:30-8:30pm – The Principals of Food & Wine Pairing

Red wine goes with red meat and white wine goes with white meat, right? Yes... and no. In this fun (and delicious!) two-hour workshop, we examine the “rules” behind pairing wine with food — and how to break them. You will understand the subtle nuances of making a food-and-wine pairing come alive, and the surprising truth about how to pair any wine with any food.
