Approachable and welcoming for the new wine enthusiast, and an insightful brush-up for the wine veteran, each workshop is interactive, educational, and entertaining.

In person classes are held at Vantage Venues, 150 King St. West, 27th floor, downtown Toronto.

Wine Appreciation Foundational Series includes four, 90-minute (or so) classes:

Tuesday January 17 – Learn to Taste – a tutored tasting covering the basics of how to properly taste wine: what colour tells you, how to know fo a wine is good or faulted, and understanding flavour and structure on the palate.

Tuesday, January 24 – Wine Styles Defined – Building upon Learn to Taste, we explore wines in popular style categories. Here we aim to understand body, dry versus sweet, tannin, and acid, as well as other popular characteristics.

Tuesday, January 31 – Food and Wine Pairing – If you’ve ever been perplexed about what to serve with your Tuesday night tacos, or Saturday night steak, this is the workshop for you! In this highly interactive session, we taste through different flavours to understand the rules of food and wine pairing. Then we learn how to break them.

Tuesday, February 7 – Sparkling Wine Exploration – This is a fascinating overview to the different styles of bubbly and techniques to making it. We look at Champagne, Prosecco, Cava and bubbly from elsewhere in the world.

Doors open at 6pm for a welcome wine and cheese, class starts promptly at 6:30 and should run about 90 minutes or so.

Vantage Venues is located on the 27th floor of 150 King St W., at University Ave, in Toronto. It is conveniently located on both the subway line and 504 streetcar line and is a six-minute walk to Union Station. Paid parking is readily available, but please don't drink and drive.

*We are sorry, but, just like theatre or sporting events, there are no refunds, exchanges, or video replays of this class. Please double check your schedule to ensure you can attend online or in person*
