Who We Are

Erin

Founder and Chief Wine Drinker

After spending nearly 10 years as a reporter working for some of Canada's biggest news agencies - including CTV, the Canadian Press & 680 News - Erin decided to turn in her microphone for a corkscrew and join the wine world.

Graduating from the CAPS in 2008, Erin spent several years as the Sommelier and Food & Beverage Manager at the exclusive private members' club, The Badminton & Racquet Club of Toronto before moving on to assistant manager at the renown Canadian restaurant, Canoe.

After her regular clients kept asking her to host wine tastings or lead private tours to Niagara, Erin realized there was a need and want for bespoke sommelier services and founded The Wine Sisters with her sommelier sister, Courtney.

Now, with her team of fabulous certified sommeliers and entertaining experts, The Wine Sisters are regularly hired to host wine tastings and tours for top corporationg and executives in Toronto and around the province.

Because you can take the girl out of journalism, but not the journalism out of the girl, Erin frequently writes about her wine adventures as a regular contributor to Vines magazine, Canadian and Special Events magazine. Her musings on wine and entertaining have also appeared in Tonic magazine and theloop.ca, as well as the special Maclean's publication, Wine in Canada. Erin also writes the annually update travel guide, "Lake Ontario Uncorked: Wine County Road Trips from Niagara Peninsula to Prince Edward County" available on amazon and at select winery boutiques.

In the summer of 2017 Erin proudly launched her second business, Drink Toronto, offering wine, beer and cocktail tours tothirsty explorers, through the city's coolest neighbourhoods.

Danielle

Danielle started her working life as an HR learning consultant and lawyer ... until she realized the wine bar was way more fun than the legal one.

Throughout her legal and HR career, Danielle always had a passion for good food, great company and amazing wine, and quickly realized it was time to turn what was a passionate hobby into a profession. She completed her Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) certification and is currently working towards her Italian Wine Scholar designation. Danielle’s philosophy about wine and wine tasting is that it should be an enjoyable and approachable experience; that it’s not about high price and pretense but learning what’s new and interesting and having an open mind to what all the wide world of wine has to offer.

Erin K.

Erin joined the Wine Sisters in 2016, when she moved back to Toronto after spending the last three years living, learning, eating and drinking in the Niagara region.

She previously worked at Peninsula Ridge Estates Winery in Beamsville as the Assistant Retail Manager after graduating from the CAPS program in 2015. Though it is really hard for Erin to pick her favourite wine, her wine rack is full of Ontario and Italian bottles ... white, rose, red... she loves them all! Erin loves everything about wine and enjoys sharing that passion with others.

Monica

All it took was one sip to convince Monica her career should involve wine.

Her first industry position was at the Niagara pioneer, Inniskillin Niagara Estate Winery and after that, there was no looking back. She has recently completed her WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) Level 3 certification and plans on, eventually with the help of many bottles, completing her WSET Diploma.

Monica is a frequent contributor to WinesInNiagara.com, writing about events in the Niagara wine region. Her motto is #DrinkLocal and #EatLocal often. To that end, Monica’s bucket list includes drinking her way around the world - preferably in a haze of bubbles.
